Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University's Esenboğa Campus Block B and the School of Foreign Languages at the Milli İrade Campus won Orange Flag awards in the category of "Candidate University for Accessibility in Space" in 2020.
The “Barrier-Free University Awards,” presented by the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) since 2018 to increase accessibility in higher education institutions, are divided into two categories: Barrier-Free University Flags and Barrier-Free Program Decorations. Barrier-Free University Flags are classified into three areas: accessibility in space (orange flag), accessibility in education (green flag), and accessibility in socio-cultural activities (blue flag). Barrier-Free Program Decorations are awarded to departments and programs that are accessible to various disability groups.
